This book tells the story about a young mouse that loves her name, but when she attends school she begins to be bullied about her name she feels outcasted and different. Then, she meets a teacher that has a different name as well so this makes her feel valued, included, and special. This book is the perfect choice for a shared reading lesson, and to start a group discussion about what makes us feel valued as people and the people that do that. Another idea for this book would be to have the students write down ideas on how to be nice to other people and share them with the class. This book is perfect for ages K-2nd grades, and the Lexile level is 460-L. A great read for the classroom and for discussion.
